About Residential Life

We are here to help you do more than just settle in, offering a whole range of social programs designed to involve you in the campus experience from day one.

We manage the on-campus living experience for JWU students each year. Residential Life offers a variety of services to resident students, including assistance with housing, roommate and community living, locating campus resources and much more.

We ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone who lives and works in our residence halls.

To this end, we'll guide and encourage you through your commitments and challenges. Through leadership opportunities, residents will have a chance to influence their residential environment and community in an environment that recognizes and celebrates our diverse population.

Residential Life is committed to making our residential community a safe, comfortable and fun environment — your home away from home. We also offer a whole range of social programs designed to involve you in the campus experience.

Residential Life provides students with a shared home that is not only safe and dynamic, but one that promotes academic and personal development within a common living environment.

Guiding Principles

Our guiding principles are:

  • Provide students with quality living facilities that are comfortable and relevant to the undergraduate experience.
  • Foster academic and non-academic collaboration and learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
  • Encourage active participation in a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Cultivate experiences for students to build camaraderie, community development, and campus affinity.

We in Residential Life believe that a residential experience complements your academic pursuits and should be one of excitement, new friendships, and personal growth.

Through all of these efforts, our residence halls are more than "places to live," they are hubs for educational living and learning in which all residential students are encouraged to develop and participate in programming and community interactions that are beneficial for their personal development and the enhancement of their overall JWU experience.  Students who live on campus have a unique experience, a higher GPA and are more involved on campus and in the community. A JWU residential experience is a dynamic, convenient and transformative aspect of your college years. The people you meet and activities you take part in will help build skills that will benefit you for the rest of your life.
