Become an RA
Thank you for your interest in joining our Residential Life team at Johnson & Wales University North Miami Campus. There are several opportunities available to students. Only candidates who have submitted a completed online application and currently meet our minimum requirements will be considered. Resident Assistants (RAs) play a key role in creating an environment for students that is conducive to their academic, personal and social growth.
Each RA lives in a residence hall and acts as a resource for students on his or her floor or area of the building. In addition to developing budget and time management skills, he or she will also gain valuable experience in mediation and emergency response.
The selection process for RAs is held at different times throughout the academic year. Applicants are required to
- Be in good judicial standing.
- Be full-time sophomores, juniors or seniors.
- Maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
- Accept a full year appointment with job continuation based on evaluation.
- Have resided in a JWU residence hall for at least two terms.
- Submit a completed application.
- Submit recommendations.
The department also hires student assistants and students who receive a work-study financial aid award to help within the buildings.
If you have any questions about the requirements or application process please email Andrea Mantilla @ Andrea.Mantilla@jwu.edu.
